Campos beach is one of the most famous beaches in Mallorca. It can be reached from the capital, Palma de Mallorca, in about 30 minutes.
The fame of this beach is mainly due to its colours: the shoals close to the coast and the white sand make this beach similar to a Caribbean resort. This comparison may sound hazardous, but Ses Covetes certainly deserves the praises. With a length of 1 km and a width of few hundred meters, the beach is flanked by the wild vegetation of the inland.
Some concrete skeletons welcome visitors from the street, as a testimony of the failure of illegal building in this area, where the construction rush has been blocked ( with the exception of a few commercial services).
In some parts there are umbrellas and deck-chairs (the daily price is 12€ for 1 umbrella and 2 deck-chairs), but the majority of the beach is free.
The absence of constructions close behind the sea encouraged nudism, which began in the ‘60s and has been kept alive until today, thanks to those same individuals who began this practice 40 years ago.
Despite the high presence of tourists, the beach is very well kept and the shore appears rather clean. In windy days the wavy sea doesn’t make it possible to enjoy the chromatic spectacles which made this corner of Spain so famous, but the beach is always charming.

How to get
From Palma de Mallorca (about 30 minutes) take the main road direction East : Lucmajor. Continue along the roundabout toward Campos, remaining outside of the city centre. When you get to Campos follow the signs to Ses Covetes. Road traffic in the village is a bit difficult, but you'll be finally directed to a country road leading to the beach.
There are some car parkings on payment in proximity of the beach. The furthest one is also the cheapest (1 Euro, against the 5 Euro requested for the car park adjacent to the beach). Fines for tourists leaving their cars along the street are said to be very expensive.
The beach can also be reached by bus from Campos.
